Trip to the Pickle Pad

We needed a break from the world one Sunday morning, so we decided to pack up the car and head to the Pickle Pad.  We stopped at the caves on our way, and threw rocks in the water, and at the icicles.  We played a little naked karate, some board games, and watched some March Madness.  The boys love having sleepovers, so this was the perfect trip.

Here's to many more trips to the Pickle Pad!

Basketball

Basketball. That word is spoken in our home more than any other word! It's all they think about during the day. When they lay down to go to bed at night, we replay the different moments of shooting that they had that day. I love it. I love that they are at the age where they want to practice, and they want to improve. Carter is on a competitive team right now, and they play teams that are a few grades older than them. It's hard to watch him lose, and get frustrated at times. I keep telling him to just wait, your time to be the biggest one will come soon, very soon. This is what our driveway looks like each night. A stream of boys all wanting to dunk it on our hoop. TJ couldn't be more proud, and neither could I.

Our first "ouchie".

St. Patrick's Day Party

St. Patrick's Day party!  In honor of Papa Wee, we had an all green party!  Green mashed potatoes, green jello, green cupcakes, etc.  We made fruit loop rainbows, which Derek took very seriously!  We had a scavenger hunt to find the treasure too!  Such a fun day!

I love my family. :)

Fresh Air

Sometimes even though it's still a little chilly outside, your soul just needs to breathe in fresh air!  It felt so wonderful.  The other day, Carter put his jacket on and said "hey Mom, I'm going outside to shoot hoops!"  Yes!  He came back in the house 45 minutes later a changed boy!  Tanner and Papa Perry have been playing catch the past few days outside.  He is thinking he wants to play baseball this spring.  I'm ready for spring.  Bring it on.  And best of all, bring on summer! ;)

It felt so great to capture these pictures of my silly boys.  I haven't been in the mood lately to take pictures, which is so not me.  I have been taking pictures out of necessity, not because I wanted to. How could I not want to take pictures of these beautiful faces?  :)
