I’ve decide that since we have moved so many times, that I need to record all the places that we have lived. It has been a crazy ride since we got married! TJ and I should be professional movers since we are so good at it!
1- Bridger Drive in Logan, UT. This was our first apartment as a married couple! Man I loved this apartment. I loved how you could be in every single room at once. It was so incredibly tiny, but we really didn’t have anything back then. I remember we didn’t have a kitchen table, so we used to eat off of one of my end tables from my parents house. I left on volleyball trips all the time and left TJ home alone. He said that he would sit home and watch my old volleyball videos because he missed me. We lived in this house for nine months, and we loved every second of it!
2- Townhouse by the Hospital. Our second apartment was quite an upgrade from our first. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! 2 bedrooms, one bath, and our very first kitchen table! I love this house, because this is the house I brought my first baby boy home to, and it was also the house that I found out I was pregnant with Tanner. We had so many great friends in this ward. I was very sad when we had to move a year and a half later. I think this was the house we lived in the longest!
3- Pickleville Playhouse the summer of 2005. TJ was going to be running the box office up at Pickleville, so we decided it would be easier to just move up there. I was 5 months pregnant at the beginning of the summer. We lived in TJ’s Grandma’s little house by the theatre. We stayed in one room, and had our own bathroom. I remember this being a very emotional summer because of a lot of things, but mostly because I was pregnant. We put all of our stuff in storage expect our clothing, and some of Carter’s toys. This made it a lot easier when we moved to Ohio 3 months later!
4- Our 1st house, Columbus, OH. I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved this house. I loved the big family room, I loved the colors on the wall that I picked out with Chel, I loved my neighbors, I loved how many fun things there were to do in Ohio, I loved our tight knit ward, and the list could go on and on. I loved living by Chelsea, and feeling like we were on an adventure together. I loved my new best friend Emily, who I miss daily! TJ loved living in a big city, but he didn’t love dental school. That is why 9 months later we moved back to Logan!
5- Campus Apartment/AKA The Hole. We found this apartment online, and didn’t get to choose which one we wanted. My mom walked through one for us and said that it wasn’t bad. We just wanted something clean and livable. The one that they rented to us was so insanely dirty! There was mold everywhere. Tanner’s knees would turn black from crawling on the carpet. TJ was gone every night to Pickleville, and it was a scary complex. One night I had opened my window to let some air in, and a guy came and stood by my window. He blew his cigarette smoke through the screen and then said something to me. I don’t remember what he said, but I was scared out of my mind. I remember crawling to the hallway so I could call TJ. It was a very small apartment compared to the beautiful home that we left in Ohio. Let’s just say that I wasn’t sad when we moved 4 months later!
6- Coppergate Apartments, Sandy, UT. This apartment was definitely an upgrade in the clean department! It was 3 bedrooms, kind of small, but it was clean. TJ worked at Desert Star while we lived here, so he was gone a lot at night. We had a lot of neighbors who smoked and drank, so I didn’t have many friends. We lived on the third floor, which I HATED! It was so hard getting my two boys to climb those stairs. Usually I had to carry them up, and then go back to the car to get the groceries, etc. This place wasn’t too bad after living in the dirty hole!
7- Condo, Bountiful, UT. I loved this condo. It was 4 bedrooms, and hadn’t really been lived in. It was so fun to have space. The boys didn’t know what to do with all of the room to run. Right before we moved I got the calling of Athletic Director in our ward, and the sport I was starting with was volleyball. I was so excited, and loved getting to know the girls. We moved about a month later. We found out I was pregnant with Hayden in this house. That was a great day! Nine months later, we moved back to Logan.
8- Townhouse, Logan, UT. We were so lucky we were able to find this townhouse for rent. I had lost hope of finding something bigger than an apartment. I stumbled upon an ad for this townhouse and I was so excited. The next day, we signed a lease for 6 months. I loved this townhouse because it had a garage! Not that I got to park in it because of all of our junk! We had a garage in our Bountiful condo, but we had looked for a place to live for a long time in Logan, and thought we were going to be stuck in a little apartment. We got called as Primary teachers in this ward, and then shortly after as Primary music leaders. It was a fun ward, and I was just starting to feel like I was making friends. Carter had made two cute friends, Jacob and Caleb. Although the day I decided that I wanted to move was the day that the neighbor boy taught Carter and Tanner about cocaine. A mother’s heart drops when she finds her boys huddled around cigarette’s, learning from the eight-year-old neighbor! This past summer we lived at Pickleville half the time, and in Logan half the time, because TJ was in both shows. It was crazy trying to keep our stuff organized. We had almost lived there a year when we moved.
9- House, North Logan. We were so lucky that we found this house for rent. We are currently building a house right by this rental. It has 6 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. It is about 6 months old. It is beautiful to say the least. We don’t know what to do with all of the rooms! TJ is so excited to have his own office. Our house will be done the first of December, so that will be our 10th move if all works out. The financing has been a little tricky with us not owning our business longer than a year. I am sitting here right now in our new rental house, with boxes all around me, wishing that they would unpack themselves! I guess I better stop typing and start working!
If anyone else out there has lived more than 9 places, I want to know about it! I tag everyone who reads this! Go!
P.S. A big thank you to all of our family and friends for helping us move a million times! My parents have helped us with about every move, and my brother even drove our stuff home from Ohio with TJ. TJ's mom was so fun when Chel and I got our first houses in Ohio. We love you all!
